Mukuvisi Woodland & The Lake

We were lucky enough to spend some quality time with family at Mukuvisi Woodland and The lake! Mukuvisi is a small game park right in Harare. I was blow away when we drove down a main highway/road and looked over to our right to see Zebra's at Mukuvisi! It was a big deal for us but just another day for anyone else driving by. At the lake Amy and I were told we could swim. Amy and I were very excited to jump in the lake (the water is so warm) but we were quickly informed that you swim in the pool, NOT the lake because of crocodiles. Good thing we were told! We didn't swim but we experienced our first Braai! Braai is like a grill or an outdoor cookout. You cook loads of different types of meat on an open grill and it is awesome! So tasty especially with sadza!

This crocodile at Mukuvisi doesn't miss a meal. I'm not sure it could even get up!

This turtle escaped his enclosure. Amy put him back and saved his life!

This picture is not a mistake. It is Amy's favorite "selfie" of the turtle before she put it back, even though its a big blur.

Antelope and some Ginny foul!

This dragon fly had black tips on it's wings- very different!

Our tour guide Rufaro!

This bird scared Amy a little because it went right up to her and sat on her feet! It was a good few minutes before the guy working in the bird area told her he wouldn't bite, he just wanted to be petted!

The Lake! It was about 20 minutes outside of Harare.

Where we had our Braai. So good!
